The Structure of Love is Indestructible ã2001 by Ross Matteson (tempered glass and steel) 11 x 11 x 48 inches (prototype) Price: negotiable |
The Structure of Love is Indestructible is a sculpture and concept for a memorial designed by Ross Matteson that pays tribute to innocent lives lost to the world on September 11th, 2001. The artist invites viewers to cherish the precious good in each life honored by this memorial. Ascending doves etched into glass suggest these loved ones in life. From a necessarily sobering tribute, a positive and powerful view of love can come forth. The viewer is encouraged to hold to indestructible universal principles of Love that cannot be touched by any of the worlds weapons. That "the value of individual life will never diminish" is one of these principles -- and this idea is indestructible! The artist believes this sculpture (especially when designed architecturally site specific) will help friends, families, communities, businesses, governments and the world to remember and honor the value of individual lives lost in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, on September 11th, 2001. The public was introduced to The Structure of Love is Indestructible at Childhood's End Gallery in Olympia, WA on October 5th, 2001. |
