Matteson Sculpture
Schedule of Shows
(As of February 11, 2008 we are scheduled to be at the following events.)
The Northern Flicker Monument A personal story of a Washington State Arts Commission public sculpture A talk to be given in Seattle by Ross Matteson Using an animated sequence of projected images, Matteson will illustrate how he made North Seattle Community College’s Northern Flicker Monument from start to finish, using the traditional lost wax method of bronze casting. He will share the very personal and yet respectfully collaborative process behind its creation. The talk will candidly address social, environmental and political issues that come up in placing art in a public setting. At the close of his presentation, Mr. Matteson will invite questions as well as responses to the Northern Flicker Monument which has been mounted in North Seattle's central courtyard since 2005. |
