Natural Ascent

Natural Ascent   was my solution to a commission by Saint Peter's Hospital in Olympia, WA for placement above the entry doors in the lobby of a surgery recovery ward. My thought was to use the metaphor of orca whales coming back up to the surface for air after a deep dive. Recovery becomes natural and graceful in this view of health!    (next sculpture)
