Quail Call   was the awaited complement to the 1996 bronze titled Pre-dawn Quail.  California quail are one of the handsome birds that I am particularly attracted to as subject matter for sculpture.   I'm not drawn to sculpting a wide diversity of species.   My emphasis is on the careful and informed use of pose -- hopefully in a way that will be meaningful to humanity.   My time observing both people and birds has become important to achieving this goal.    (next sculpture)
