I had been keeping a piece of marble outside in the weather for many years. During this time, the stone became almost completely covered with thick green moss. Removing the moss was almost like unwrapping a present. Making my first cuts, it soon became clear that the qualities of the white hard stone were going to be a very nice fit for a touchable Ptarmigan in the snow.  (next sculpture)
