Falcons on Quail  shows a food transfer, common among nesting falcons.   I sculpted the original for this limited edition between 1984 and 1986.   This piece was my first serious exploration of dramatically contrasting textures, a theme that has since entered into many of my works.   At the time I made this sculpture, the proportionally large rock form was a symbol of the vast habitat required to support not only these wild birds, but an ecosystem full of varied life forms.     (next sculpture)
