Falco Mexicanus ã1989 by Ross Matteson bronze 16 x 10 x 9 inches edition size 20 Sold Out Edition |
Falco Mexicanus is a portrait of an imprinted trained prairie falcon. It was the first bronze falcon sculpture that I made with such close live reference. An imprinted falcon will often become very relaxed after eating. With this bird, I was actually able to go back and forth between the bird and sculpture, feeling the similarities and differences in their form. In this photograph, we see both a front and back view of the same piece. |
