A Second Chance ã1990 by Ross Matteson bronze 11 x 4 x 4 inches edition size 100 Price: $1,600 |
A Second Chance In 1970, the peregrine falcon had been lost from the eastern United States and was rapidly disappearing from the west. That year, The Peregrine Fund was formed and has since hatched and released thousands of peregrines to the wild, helping to reestablish the species throughout much of the United States. In recognition of this unparalleled conservation accomplishment and 20th anniversary of the organization, the Peregrine Fund commissioned this limited edition work. A Second Chance is a unique and life-like interpretation of an adult peregrine falcon brooding its newly hatched young. Tom Cade, founder of The Peregrine Fund said "I have always liked Ross artwork, but no other piece has captured the spirit or life as has his A Second Chance". The "Matteson Sculpture" logo incorporates the falcon head of this signature piece into it's graphic design. (next sculpture) |
